You may find it hard to believe that being an alcoholic and having an alcohol abuse problem aren’t the same condition. Somebody with an alcohol abuse problems is often referred to as a “functioning alcoholic”, and they tend to drink excessively as well as suffering from certain health symptoms normally related to alcoholism.

Most heavy drinkers will come to the decision at some time in their lives that the time has come to either cut back drinking or even stopping all together. The problem that they now encounter is how on earth are they going to do it. In order to find out just how, we first need to discover just how our lives change if we actually manage to achieve our goal.

Alcoholism is a very serious problem that many of us find ourselves embroiled in. The first step to getting out of the clutches of alcoholism is recognizing the symptoms of the problem and coming to terms with the fact of being an alcoholic. While there are no hard and fast rules about how many glasses per day of alcohol make you an alcoholic.
